Why couldn't I find any ready-made knitting bear graphics? *smile*Don’t hold your breath about seeing this product on your LYS shelves, but there’s at least one knitter who can lay claim to knitting with chocolate brown yarn made from the fur of shedding bears.

These are trained and socialized bears who enjoy treats and who tolerate careful brushing during June and July when they are getting down to their summer coats in Vermont.

The yarn is smooth and a little scratchy, in case you were wondering. See the story at SmallTownPapers News Service for details.

Hi there Carolyn! I’d wondered what had happened to you! I’ve been sort of MIA this year as well … trying to find time during the day to blog is hard sometimes. Glad to see you in the blogosphere!

Carolyn!!! I didn’t know Loopy was back!

Serendipity that I found you. Was playing hookey, reading my knitting blogs this morning, and guess who left a comment on the Knitting Curmudgeon’s blog, with a name I recognized, but a URL that was new to me?

It’s great to see you back - I’m also posting a BIT more faithfully to update the MKG blog…may I give you a mention?

I’m surprised that the bear hair yarn has to be scratchy, when bear skin rugs are yummy - if politicaly incorrect - clouds of luxury.

Love, love, LOVE the gallery of gorgeous knitting needles. - This from someone who rarely strays from circs. - a depressingly utilitarian choice, from an aesthetic POV. (About the only thing you can add to circs and still have them be usable is COLOR - and color has a way of wearing off, says this owner of several newer and vintage Boye Needlemasters!)

Know how busy you are, but you are missed on those 4th Tuesdays! - LisaB
